The Black Crows Mirus Cor Skis is one of the narrower skis offered from the French Driven Black Crows Ski Company. With an 87-millimeter waist, and a 13-meter turn radius, this ski is all about making short, quick and dynamic turns and being able to arc on a dime. Built with a poplar core and a fiberglass laminate, the Mirus Cor also has a titanal single plate underfoot, which provides exceptional edge grip while also adding torsional stiffness. But what really makes these skis stand out is their unique shape of the tips and tails. The shovel shape is very blunted, making the ski incredibly light for swing-weight purposes. There’s still a fair amount of taper, which is necessary to create that short arc, but it doesn’t quite look normal from a visual perspective. At the other end, the fish-tail shape with the split in the tail is totally interesting in allowing the inside edges of the tail to flex more and provide an incredible amount of smoothness when you’re getting from one turn to the next. This ski loves to carve and skis a bit on the shorter side. Think of a slalom ski but with a freestyle attitude and influence.
