These things are fast. There’s no two ways about it. The K2 Disruption MTi Alliance skis with bindings are an amazing choice for former (or current) lady racers who are looking for power and precision in a lighter package. These things feel and ski light, but when you flex them, their stiffness really comes to light. Just a bit of rocker in the tip makes for easier turn initiation, but the rest of the ski is cambered and all there. There are a few new technologies employed in these skis that are notable. First, you’ll likely hear a lot about the Dark Matter Damping tech that keeps the skis glued to the snow. Along the ski’s edge, K2 inlays a polymeric damper sandwiched between two layers of carbon. This gives the ski an unbelievably smooth ride with little to no vibrations. It’s pretty impressive, and when you get these skis on edge, it’s easy to see that it works. The Titanal I-Beam is borrowed from the Mindbender series but instead of a Y shape found in the freeride skis, the I-Beam in the carving ski is much better suited for front side carving. This metal laminate runs almost the entire length of the ski in the central portion, extending to the edges underfoot. From a fore/aft flex perspective, this makes the ski fun to drive but requires a skilled pilot with a strong balance point. Advanced and expert ladies will love the carving ability and light weight feel of the K2 Disruption MTi Alliance women’s skis with bindings.
